The Arrowsmith Program is a comprehensive set of cognitive exercises designed to strengthen the core functions that underlie many learning and cognitive challenges. By targeting key areas of brain functioning, the program supports improvements in learning, work performance, and social interactions.
The program is suitable across our life span, as our brains rewire and reshape at any age. Hence, seniors, professionals and young people alike can benefit from the program.
Each cognitive program has a series of intensive and graduated tasks designed to address a specific area of cognitive functioning. The goal of the Arrowsmith Program is to identify and strengthen a series of weak cognitive areas that affect an individual, and each person works on cognitive programs that are individually designed for their needs.

The Arrowsmith cognitive exercises are built on the science of neuroplasticity—the brain’s ability to change and grow at any age. By engaging in targeted, repetitive activities, the program strengthens weaker cognitive functions and helps build new neural pathways.
The Five Core Principles of the Arrowsmith Approach
Differentiated Stimulation
Exercises are specially tailored to target and strengthen an individual’s weaker cognitive functions.
Attention
The exercises and the support are designed to help the participant to sustain their attention fully on the task, which triggers neuroplasticity.
Novelty and Complexity
Exercises introduce new, increasingly complex challenges just beyond current ability to continuously stimulate neural adaptation, while hindering other cognitive functions from getting involved or compensating.
Sustained Engagement
Consistent, repeated practice over time—much like gym training—is essential to stimulate lasting change in brain function. First striving for accuracy, then consistency, then automaticity.
Effortful Processing
Tasks are designed to be challenging yet achievable—requiring effort, but not overwhelming—so that learning through trial and mastery occurs.
The Arrowsmith Program is grounded in the well-researched principles of neuroplasticity and has generated considerable interest for its potential to address learning difficulties through targeted cognitive exercises. Numerous internal research reports, case studies, and program evaluations have documented positive outcomes for participants, including improvements in academic skills and self-perceived learning ability.

"As an educator, I've taken the goal to teach all my students how to engage in learning practices that enhance their brains.
The Arrowsmith programme provides a suite of cognitive exercises and a systematic approach for deliberate and targeted cognitive practice -- the analogous to individualised physiotherapy exercises for the brain."
